The idea started with traditional fishermen’s mittens, once made to endure freezing winds and long days at sea. We reimagined them for HFX as wool anchors for a new generation: practical, simple, and designed to last.
The pattern is free to download in both Norwegian and English, so you can knit your own. Choose sustainable wool and you’ll have mittens that keep their shape, stay warm even when damp, and only get better with time.
About the Designer
Une Cecilie Oksvold works at the intersection of color, craft, and mental health. Through knitting, writing, and lectures, she shows how creativity and nature can bring calm, resilience, and joy.
